WAH WAH WAH...the only sound of crying is my own.

www.iwallfree.com

damn i knew i should have made that baby crying recording. i knew i should have planted it in the goals and activated it with my remote control. drats!!! i should have listened to my inner inventor and run with the idea because guess what? kennedy bagged seven goals when he should have been home waiting for the sound of pitter patter. just our luck! make that a double drats, nope i triple it instead!!!
OMFF ( oh my friggin footballs) did you see the size of that man mountain? 71 hit outs to 15 paints the picture. you do not realise what a mammoth young man nic naitanui is until you see him with your own eyes. seriously we looked a bit under sized. i have been thinking that for most of the season. time those lads packed on a bit of extra muscle. in my heart i was hoping for the win but part of me  was also bracing for a defeat. and no folks i am not being defeatist just a realist. considering we have no ruckman trengove has taken the opportunity by the horns and has run with it. i say bloody good on him and one cannot dispute his effort. we are not running on all cylinders and now must rely on some creative tweaking and pure blood, sweat and tears. i have to say i was a little surprised when i was listening to BT yesterday. he commented that he was hoping port would win this weekend and make the eight because they add some x-factor to the competition...complimentary don't you think? of course all of our sentiments are with him.
well what can i say viewers? at one stage when the margin blew out to 37 it looked as though the eagles were really going to take flight but alas they didn't even though it doesn't help our cause. eight measly points in the end when the momentum swung our way but too little too late. and shame about the jonas incident, reckless and stupid but enough has been said about that and now he has gonna have to suck it up on the sidelines. but i will add one more thing...disappointing for the team and we shall have to see what the coaching staff are going to come up with to counteract that loss. it was an exciting night but littered with frustrations thanks to #theperminator. man some of his decisions were as bad as his hairstyle. seriously they were. if you are going to pay for one you pay for all. however, the ones which really fire you up are the soft frees or non existent ones which end in goals for the other team. still we had our chances, poor kicking and not hitting targets, some costly turnovers in the first half all led to catch up football. no disgrace but it is still...WAH WAH WAH.
on a brighter note i am currently one behind in the tipping. don't know if it is a good thing or bad thing as i certainly don't want to start over thinking things. this round i was torn between crows and GWS. the giants are in red hot form, the crows have the home ground advantage. the weather is atrocious so it could be a real slog. in the end i tossed a coin and it came up giants. i did the same and tipped port again. they will need to continue their unblemished record at the alice if they are going to have even a sniff at making the eight. if not, guess who will be crying again? yep...moi. so viewers on to round ten where i have tipped the roos to succumb to sydney for their first loss, hawks, port, saints to continue freo's losing streak, tigers, giants, cats and bulldogs. happy indigenous round and may your footy story come true except if you are playing my team, hee, hee.

black cat friday...sunday sucks!!!

image: black cats rule...youtube

OMFG friday the 13th...OOOOOOOO will the black cat curse the footy? well actually not the cats but one would have thought there were an army of black cats lurking around the goals. 20 behinds viewers...yes 20 behinds that even halved would have led to a belting and how would i know? because may the power footy gods take mercy on me, i was there. seriously you must be thinking what the hell? why would the commandress of the lady army dare to be seen at a crows game? well folks free tickets, footy research and i had to witness this hyped up game for myself. originally i was going to be escorting a cats fan but lo and behold she was struck down with the friday 13th flu so i took the next best thing...my little sista. and yes we did everything in our power to bestow the sista's curse. ( shame on us!!!) and yes we went incognito as to not arouse suspicion. and yes i took copious notes so that i can expand my footy knowledge and know how.

well folks we loved it. 8 mins until the footy even made it into their forward 50. the big tex looked as though he was going to have a huge impact but after two goals  he pretty much faded into the background. geelong missed too many opportunities to really stick their claws into the crows and maul them into oblivion. however, once again they seemed bigger, stronger and with guthrie and show pony (motolop) running rampant big hawkins got a get out of jail free card. because basically he did zilch. we enjoyed the loss, hee,hee but sadly footy karma came to bite us on the goozica and take a big chunk out of our butts!! port you lost that game and if it wasn't for the delightful baby shower we attended then our sunday would have completely sucked!!!
friday night footy i was expecting a huge game and was curious to see what the pre game entertainment and atmosphere would be like. the verdict? pretty lame and frankly embarrassing. and yes you crow fans can point to the ladder and pull out the tire old worn tarp references but honestly unless you increase the first aiders around the ground, your supporters are going to start carking it in big numbers!!! the bullet of truth folks is that both teams look pretty mediocre. crows and port will be lucky to make the eight and if they don't pull their finger out well then it is doubtful we will see any finals action. and that is because viewers come round 22 percentage is gonna count for a lot. and right now i can only see maybe seventh or eighth spot up for grabs. however the golden opportunity lies with the crows now to snuff out the suns rays and bring home an expected percentage boosting win.
the match of the round would have to have been the tigers and swans. the tigers can breathe a little sigh of relief but is going to take them to reproduce that form week in and week out to see if it is possible to replicate another miraculous run into finals contention. i say unlikely but yes will give them credit if they prove me wrong. still you would wonder what is the point anyway? ouch!!! and port you blew it. a golden opportunity wasted to notch up a win that could count for a lot. can't say from what i saw the footy was consistent enough. it seems like once again fear took over instead of grabbing every second of the game and locking in a win when 17 points up in the last. i have to admit perhaps i am just as guilty because a quick glance on my phone and i went ok 1-2 more goals and it is sealed. the next time i was staring at defeat...boo hoo. and this round we have the eagles who on paper do not have a very good away record. i have tweeted the VC to give him the key word and theme for this week which is electrocution, #crispyfryeaglewing. perhaps i shall record some baby crying sounds to play to kennedy when he lines up for goal, hee, hee. whatever the case i know my chakra clearing and favourite undie wearing doesn't seem to be working. regardless i will be there in full force and hope the rest of the power fans will be too. here's to a fortunate footy weekend folks.

mothers day curse broken and the accidental ruckman...

www.quickmeme.com

allelujah, makja boza, thank the footy gods the mothers day curse did not take hold. yes viewers i began my mothers day on the right foot...a splendidly delish breakfast at the new local on port road next to the entertainment centre. (i highly recommend) it has been refurbished from the old suzy wongs slash lucky cat into a suburban delight. great coffee, great service, tasty food, unpretentious service and the interior simply pleasant showcasing homegrown art...btw that is pretty damn good too and is for sale.
so confess, come on own up...were you wondering what port were going to dish up? personally i found myself in a place thinking OMG they have to rise to the challenge after last years embarrassment. they have to avenge last years mothers day loss (which i can tell you didn't go down well with us power mamma's, no sirree, no friggin way) they have to win convincingly to shut up the critics right? after all it is only brisbane? but after all it is only brisbane almost beat sydney so i certainly wasn't going to tempt footy fate with being too smug and getting ahead of myself. i knew they could win but what the eventual outcome would be i had no idea coz i forgot to do my chakra clearing and put my crystals out under the last full moon, hee, hee.
well for one, the weather seemed like it didn't feel like granting us any concessions. rain, drizzly rain led me to take my lady army organizational pack which consisted of... my roll of ultra paper towels, plastic ponchos, money for coffee and a couple of organic apples thrown in for good measure ( i had already eaten a whole bag of chips to myself...yes shame on me but they were good, besides the diet police were hot on my trail!!!) no problem saving seats folks, sunday late afternoon fixture, mothers day well one could be forgiven for not turning up, can they? overall 32,000 plus respectable enough for a cold, drizzly sunday afternoon.
and lo and behold just as i suspected jacko was thrown into the ruck. i had been wondering all week whether he would actually get back in but by the end of the game it revealed itself to be a pretty smart move. who needs a hitout when you can gather your own ball, claim 25 disposals, 15 handballs, 10 kicks, 2 marks and 6 tackles, a seriously damn good effort with more run and grunt. the accidental ruckman has been born folks so let us rejoice!!! apart from the first quarter and come on admit it you couch watchers, you were probably having a mini meltdown and screaming at the tv. but moi i was surprisingly calm. getting it together in the second port drew from its reserves of desire worked hard and kept on keeping on. a seven goal four quarter to one two began to speak to the crowd. were we excited? you bet we were. were the power mamma's delighted? you bet we were and secretly i was trying to contain myself as i knew a possible thumping was just beyond the footy horizon. and that certainly was going to beat a box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers on mothers day anytime folks. hip hip hooray and that it did continue with a blitz in the last quarter and another seven goal haul for port to stamp its authority on the game. a convincing and well deserved victory which should at least keep the media critics silenced. i believe what port supposedly lacks in depth has now been made up by flexibility. impeys pace in the forward line a bonus, jackos presence in the ruck deceiving, the backline gelling and of course a pittard clanger of old although noticed easily forgiven. so now we have to back it up with a third win in a row against carlton viewers. but like the lions game i won't be taking them lightly either considering their form has been reasonably respectable...confidence breeds belief.
however, i will state this. it is time to avenge last years loss which kept us out of the finals and a chance to do some damage. i will also say this... if i had the opportunity during that disgraceful display of umpiring i would have found blue betty and drove her onto the field myself and run over that umpire who called play on and then decided to give the player another kick at goal because he missed. i absolutely hated that game folks and i should know because i was there and in the end had to console kochie myself ( feel free to go back to last years blog entry). for those who are wondering who blue betty is, she is the carlton hovercraft, yep your read right, OMG a friggin hovercraft, LOL!!! i will also say that if the wizard mr robbie gray returns for this match then i give him full permission to carve the carton side up for revenge. let us see him break the records and get the justice he deserves after that horrible sling tackle by gibbs. i better stop now before some undesirable words creep in and my blog becomes banned...for footys sake can't have that happening, now can we? hee, hee.
so a perfect end to my mothers day folks and also to my tipping...8/9 and the coles voucher goes to me this week which will feed my teenagers for about five mins. i hope you enjoyed the game (especially power mums) as much as i did. awesome to see wolfman dazzling us with the ability we know he possesses, to watch big bad charlie bag a handful and to see little elvis ( wingard) back on the field where he belongs. and of course to watch everyone of them playing team football and showing us their power to turn things around. lets keep the voltage running boys...#weplayasone.

who let all the black cats out at alberton???

friggin footballs who let all the black cats out at alberton? no wingard, robbie gray last week, the wizard still out and now big man loebbe added to the injury list, WAH WAH WAH...how much worse could it possibly get? whispers of boak not training and big bad charlie with the flu. looks like i am going to have to borrow big ivy's work truck and go and do a black cat round up myself, apologies cat owners, hee,hee.... your cat can be collected for a fee and will be well cared for, all proceesds to lady army fundraising.
well have you breathed a sigh of relief fans? personally i thought the team effort was much better, not perfect but certainly glimpses of the footy the team are capable of. 99 tackles, great pressure, the makeshift ruck seemed to work against mugarutz (maric). and how about impey? about time his speed paid off, well done to him for his bag of goals and  to polec who i thought recreated some of that fine form that had gone missing since his big spell. i thought the ins were reasonable but i did wonder if big butch was going to be thrown into the mix because of the height and crashing pack factor. playing small and quick paid off this time (because it didn't last year) and the back six have improved with the speed from oshea and the footy nous of the krak. god i loved his one step goal (good thinking polly) and what about broadbents bomb? and what about the coaching? poor bastards under the pump, gotta give them some credit too. perhaps being forced to think outside the box and get a little more creative will pay dividends, time will tell... also well done to lady army representative and her power converts, hee, hee, for making it to the match. her enthusiasm and belief was second to none, apologies tiger fans but the heat is on you now.
well son number two and i scored 7 from nine. my reverse psychology tip paid off but our melbourne one didn't. i tipped GWS but wouldn't have predicted that flogging so it actually may put our loss in just a little perspective. however, that dosn't excuse that woeful game. the giants are certainly notching up some humungous wins. the AFL have created a monster and some may just feel that perhaps it is time to bring those concessions to a halt, mm...i wonder who that could be??? we shall just have to wait and see. one part of me says they have yet to notch up any finals experience which could go against them. another part of me says having no fear and nothing to lose could very well play into their hands. but does that really come as any surprise? probably not. the competition is evening out and the way the games are panning out this round i say the final end of the eight is going to be tight and will come down to percentage.
so what can we expect from this round fans? wingard and trengoove back in the side. i suspect they will get trengove to ruck along with dixon and wolfman. hopefully little elvis ( wingard) has been left feeling hungry and is ready to feast upon some goals. the lions will certainly not be the easybeats some may suspect. they were very unlucky to lose last week but i am counting on the power mums to give their boys a stern talking to demanding a mamma's day win and the box of chocolates. i am also putting in a request to the weather gods to look kindly upon us power mammas and to provide us with a rain free match and to the footy gods a win would be eternally grateful, appreciated, loved, have us jumping for joy, giving benefits to our partners, (wink, wink u know what i mean) so i suspect there may be some praying to you right now...LOL!!!
ok so that about does it. my round 7 tips were/are...hawks by 43 ( not bad) pies (poo, poo) swans, demons ( looks like another loss for them) giants, cats ( not surprised) roos and of course power to switch back on after our miserable loss to the lions last year. so to all footy mums and mamma's in general, happy, happy mamma's day to you. i hope you are more than appreciated, spoilt and made to feel even more loved than you usually are...
big love, big hugs and kisses for mothers day
