sitting atop mt. everest...loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! |
well, well, well am still recovering from saturday nights clash. sunday i barely had a voice. i lay part of the blame on the fact that our usual seats were stolen...OMG how very dare they!!! was not happy jan because we had to ascend into the grandstand. i felt like i was sitting atop mt everest. yes you get a birdseye view but personally i just could not stand it. it sent my libran scales outta whack and was a complete distraction. in the end my fellow lady army supporter managed to get her hubby to relinquish his fancy adelaide oval tickets and we descended back down to where the action was. two other lady army members ended up standing near the interchange and by all accounts gotta a great view and some snaps of ken and the boys. i have vowed for this to never happen again. so lady army listen carefully...from now on with mega clashes we must get to the game earlier regardless. and buzzinator don't you dare lose that lucky rock!!! ok let me put that in the minutes.
well what can i say? first goal to wingard and off to a flying start it was awesome. hard going at the footy, just keeping the pressure on. thought we were held pretty well in the second quarter and then that comeback in the third. still it was a bloody decent effort. we did not relinquish the lead all night and finished the fourth quarter just 14 points up when it looked like the beginnings of a blow out. not happy with some of those soft frees as well as a few that could have been paid our way.
and of course i was expecting the barrage of...big deal you played an under manned side. and perhaps the hawks were not at full strength but don't forget we were also missing jonas and not playing our best either. a competitive side like hawthorn do not dwell and sit at the top for all that time if they do not have depth in their list. and yes mr.clarkson you are probably correct in saying that we are not unbeatable. however, when everyone of those players are in sync our team is going to be a hard team to beat. we are the team of the future built upon a foundation of character, hard work and unity. right now i am full of admiration for the extraordianry turn around but am keeping a lid on it. we are almost at the half way mark viewers and a lot can happen in the next few months. let me just say footy gods i would like you to grant us the favour of keeping our side fit and injury free. amen.
our luck continued with lovie and son number two being escorted home by friends taxi which left us free to enjoy the celebrations in the magarey room. by the time we had finished and walked to the train station to catch our free ride home it was past midnight. i returned exhausted and with very little voice left. watching the replay the next day i can completely understand why. man that crowd was deafening. my throat is still somehwat tender and it is monday night. and to tipping OMG wendy bateman you failed epically this week, sorry to have to put it that way but i did rather well. thanks to son number two for giving me that carlton tip. and WTF who would have thought? how can the crows go from playing four quarters of footy beating collingwood to succumbing to an average side? i think they are now following in the roos footsteps...and i will give you one word for that...INCONSISTENT! sorry my crows friends but it is not looking rosy at the moment. i think your chances of making the eight have taken a huge blow but i'm not the only one who would think that. but of course i will refrain from becoming too smug because after not selling the port power raffle tickets last year i do not want footy karma to come back and bite me on the bum.
and to finish off i thought polec was sensational and continues to prove that he was more than a worthy pick up. love kane mitchell's tenacity on the ball and what a goal. however, goal of the match surely goes to the young chad of course. carlile has improved outta sight and i have to confess i often wondered what all the hoo ha was about. (previously even i believed i could run faster than him) well done team. keep going. keep the pressure on. every game is a test but the next huge one will come in the form of the swans away from home. i say we are more than a good chance to remain top four...premiership? perhaps we can pinch one this year...i say next year the window becomes fully open.
love and laughter FFFandF XXX
PS hartlett suspened? a bit harsh i say.
